چندماه پیش بود خبر دردناکی را از یک همکلاسی نوشتم و از شما تقاضای کمک کردیم. خدارا شکر مونا اهداکننده مناسب را یافته و درمان آغاز شده است.آنطور که مونا نوشته است، از سال گذشته تاکنون،  یازده ایرانی دیگر نیز اهداکننده‌ی مناسب خود را یافته‌اند. یادمان نرود که هنوز دوستان و عزیزان دیگری مانند مونا چشم انتظار کمکهای انسان‌دوستانه ما هستند. آنها را فراموش نکنیم و همانطور که مونا نوشته است امید را در دلشان زنده نگاه داریم.

Thanks to your generous and tireless efforts for finding a Bone Marrow Match for me during the last year, eleven matches has found for eleven other Iranians which makes me feel proud and happy. Recently, I could find Cord Blood match which is a little different than Donor HLA Matched. I am fired up and ready to go. I’ve started the Bone Marrow Transplant Procedure at the University of Washington Medical Center that shall last a few months.

In the midst my struggles with this difficult disease I’ve had the privilege to witness what is best about having a bunch of wonderful people like you as my friends. In my heart you’ve really been my angles. The encouragement and support that I’ve received from each and every one of you –to do not give up and fight on fighting– have kept my hope alive and given me the power to win every battle so far. In the stories and faces of many of you who have cared and supported me in the hospital, at schools, in houses of prayer, and most importantly those of you who spent long hours working the TV, radio stations and the Internet for registering thousand of donor from across America and across the globe have kept my hope alive. And, I promise to you, the day that I’m out of this hospital, I will do my best to start paying back for your generosity and kindness.

I got hospitalized last Thursday to get prepared for my stem cell transplant on Friday. This is such a great opportunity for me to have a healthy happy life again. You all know my story and I am grateful that I had such great friends like you that supported me and encouraged me through this difficult phase of my life. The stem cell transplant is a very complicated procedure that brings a lot of difficulties to the patient. But, I am determined to win this phase rapidly and successfully, and I can make that happen with your care and support. I feel blessed for finding my match and I feel your support and care for me gives me the energy and motivation to move forward and beat this disease and come back to you my dears healthy, happy and with a gift of life. My transplant is from Cord Blood. In this type of transplant the stem cells are coming from a new-born’s cord blood and it will be injected to my body after a series of conditioning. I am determined to go through this path successfully not only for my health sake but also for all the patients that are or will be going through transplant. I want to show them that there is no such a thing as impossible, it might be hard but you can make all your desires come true. It just takes your will power.Going through Chemotherapy and Total Body Irradiation was very difficult and it had a lot of complications. even though, I had the last dose of my TBI few hours ago, I still feel those complications are bothering me. But, the only thing that matters the most at this very second of my life is that, I made it so far and I am completely ready to get my transplant tomorrow morning. I am determined to get well and I am ready to fight with all its complications and keep my hope. I m sure every thing will get better day after day. Love you all. Please keep praying for me. Mona.
